Is a Declaration of Domicile required in Florida?+
No. Florida does not require it. The state you are leaving may consider it as one piece of evidence of intent.
Does filing it make me a Florida resident?+
No. It's evidence of intent. Residency is a pattern — license, vehicle, voter registration, where you bank and spend time. Your roadmap covers all of it.
Which county do I file in?+
The county of the Florida residential address you provide. If you do not have it yet, pay $149 now and we hold the filing; the county fee is charged after you add the address.
What if I'm abroad right now?+
You can complete the intake and pay from abroad. If you do not have a Florida address yet, the application waits in your portal until you provide one.
What does the county charge?+
The recording fee is charged at cost. We show it before checkout when you already provided a county, or charge it when you add the address later.
Can I add my spouse?+
Yes. A second adult Declaration is $49 and can be added at checkout.
How long does recording take?+
E-recording counties typically return a stamped copy in 1–3 business days. Mail-in counties take longer — we show that window before you pay.
What if my county still takes paper?+
We mail the notarized original and track it. The portal shows the mail-in timeline for that county.
